The secret Buddha garden
is a wonderfully tranquil garden full of religious statues-mainly
Hindu and Buddhist-created by the late Nai Nim Tongsuk, a retired
durian farmer whose grave lies behind the main cluster of statues.
It took him a reported fifteen years to single handedly complete
the garden, which now seems to be a popular attraction (and there
are signs that it is being spruced up for visitors so one can only
hope that it isn't spoiled). Try to visit early in the morning or
late in the afternoon when it is quiet and you can experience the
extraordinary beauty of this special place. It is located above
Na Muang, take the next road after (south of) the road to Na Muang
Waterfalls and follow the signs, or better still go with a guide.
